We are seeking an exceptional Head of Delivery and Release Management to establish and lead a newly created function at the heart of a major technology transformation. This is an opportunity to shape how technology programs are governed, delivered and quality assured across a complex, purpose-driven organisation delivering critical digital services within the healthcare industry.
About the Opportunity
Reporting to the General Manager, Technology, you will build this function from the ground up, creating the frameworks, processes and culture that ensure technology delivery is disciplined, transparent and consistently successful.
Working across a diverse technology portfolio, you will provide strategic oversight of delivery governance, release management, quality assurance and resource planning, while partnering closely with executive stakeholders to align business priorities with technology outcomes.

Key responsibilities
- Establishing enterprise-wide portfolio governance and delivery management practices.
- Providing visibility across projects, programs, risks, dependencies and resource allocation.
- Leading release management and quality assurance coordination across multiple delivery streams.
- Driving demand management and portfolio prioritisation in partnership with business stakeholders.
- Developing workforce and contractor strategies to support changing delivery needs.
- Leading and developing high-performing teams across QA, release management and resource management.
- Building strong relationships across technology, business and executive leadership to remove delivery barriers and improve organisational performance.
- Championing data-driven decision making, continuous improvement and delivery excellence.
You are a strategic technology leader with a proven track record of delivering complex transformation programs within large, multi-program environments. You combine strong governance capability with a collaborative leadership style and know how to influence outcomes across organisational boundaries.
We are keen to speak to candidates who can demonstrate the following knowledge and experience;
- Extensive senior leadership experience in technology delivery, portfolio governance or release management.
- Experience establishing or maturing PMO, delivery governance or portfolio management frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise QA, release management and technology delivery practices.
- Demonstrated success leading teams through organisational change and building new capabilities.
- Experience managing technology vendors, contractors and delivery partners.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, including influencing senior executives.
- A strong analytical approach, using metrics and insights to drive performance and decision making.
- Experience within healthcare, digital health, government or not-for-profit environments, along with professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, MSP or SAFe.
