Pinpoint Talent is partnering with a Defence client to secure a highly capable Network Engineer on a contract basis. This role focuses on the delivery, optimisation and support of secure enterprise-grade networks that underpin critical Defence infrastructure.
You will work within a collaborative technical environment supporting architecture, deployment and lifecycle maintenance of resilient, secure networks. The ideal candidate combines strong hands-on networking skills with modern security practices and Defence operational experience.

Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, operate and maintain secure wired and wireless network environments. Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues in multi-vendor environments. Support network monitoring, capacity planning, incident response and performance tuning. Implement and maintain segmentation, firewalling, routing, switching and network security controls. Contribute to technical documentation, standards, runbooks and change control processes. Work closely with cybersecurity, systems engineering and infrastructure teams to deliver secure, compliant solutions.
  
Essential Skills and Technologies
Demonstrated experience with enterprise routing and switching.
Strong knowledge of network protocols and technologies including OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VLANs, STP, QoS.
Hands-on configuration of firewalls and security appliances (Cisco ASA/Firepower, Palo Alto, Fortinet).
Network automation and orchestration using Ansible, Python or similar.
Proficiency with network monitoring and analytics tooling.
Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure) and hybrid architectures.
Working knowledge of Defence network standards and governance frameworks is highly regarded.
  
Essential Qualifications
Security Clearance - NV1 or above mandatory.
Defence experience is highly regarded.
