The Role

Pinpoint Talent's Federal Government client is seeking a Solution Designer to join on a long-term contract.
In this role, you will play a critical role in shaping, designing, and delivering technical solutions across enterprise-scale systems. You’ll work across applications, infrastructure, and vendor environments to develop and implement solutions that are scalable, secure, and integrated.
This position involves:

• Designing solution architectures that support large-scale, mission-critical systems.

• Collaborating with project managers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery.

• Coordinating technical activities across multiple vendors and teams during design, development, testing, and deployment phases.

• Advising on technology options, integration approaches, and testing requirements.

• Supporting change and innovation to continuously improve delivery and system effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialist technical knowledge and advice across multiple programs and initiatives.

• Lead solution design and technical delivery planning, ensuring interdependencies are mapped and managed.

• Oversee integration, development, and testing activities to meet project outcomes.

• Contribute to business improvement and innovation initiatives.

• Supervise and mentor junior staff, building technical capability within the team.

• Manage and foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Requirements

• Australian Citizenship (mandatory).

• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance and national police check.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in delivering software and infrastructure solutions.

• Strong technical expertise in large mission-critical systems, cloud environments, and large databases (e.g., Oracle).

• Experience with delivery and operational frameworks such as SDLC, COBIT, PRINCE2, ISO9001, ITSM, SIAM.

• Proficiency in project delivery tools within DevOps/DevSecOps environments.
