Strategy Program Manager

Location: Brisbane CBD (with regular intrastate travel)
Contract: 6-month Contract
Flexible Work: Hybrid options available (up to 2 days WFH)

About the Opportunity

Our State Government client is seeking an experienced Strategy Program Manager to lead the planning, coordination and delivery of a major, state-wide strategy within the organisation.

This role will suit a strategic thinker with strong program management capability, proven stakeholder engagement experience, and the ability to work effectively in complex, multi-agency environments. The program will be led internally with significant collaboration across external partners and regional stakeholders.

Extensive travel across Queensland will be a core component of the role to support consultation and engagement activities.
  
Key Responsibilities
  • Developing and managing a phased program plan, including implementation, change management, communications and stakeholder engagement components
  • Planning, facilitating and delivering consultation forums and engagement activities across metropolitan and regional locations
  • Analysing and synthesising consultation outcomes to inform strategic planning and decision-making
  • Drafting high-quality strategy, planning, policy and governance documents
  • Supporting the development of outcomes, evaluation and reporting frameworks
  • Collaborating closely with internal strategy, research and governance teams to ensure alignment and delivery
  • Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including priority and community groups
  • Providing accurate reporting on progress, risks and deliverables
  
About You

You are a highly capable strategy and program professional who thrives in complex environments. You bring:
  • Extensive experience leading large-scale strategies or programs of work
  • Strong facilitation, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Demonstrated ability to translate consultation insights into actionable strategy
  • Experience working across government, social impact, or large public-sector environments (highly regarded)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive, adaptable approach with a strong sense of accountability and professionalism
