Job description
We are seeking an experienced Integration Engineer to support the SSN-AUKUS Program, providing specialised engineering services focused on the development and integration of Nuclear-Powered Submarine capability requirements. This is a contract opportunity supporting one of Australia’s most strategically significant Defence programs.
Canberra | 1 year contract + extension | NV1 required
This role will work under broad direction and take a lead role in capability integration analysis, requirements development, and planning activities that underpin the delivery of NPS Capability Systems. The position has a strong focus on platform and capability integration across Defence and with AUKUS partners, including trilateral engagement.
The successful candidate will provide end-to-end integration engineering services, contributing across capability and concept development, requirements analysis, design and implementation, hazard identification and analysis, verification and validation, and integration certification. The role will also involve the preparation and review of plans, reports, requirement specifications, design documents, and specialist engineering outputs, as well as the development of briefings and technical advice for senior stakeholders.
Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Engineering from an Australian institution, or an equivalent qualification recognised under the Washington Accord, and demonstrate practical experience in platform integration engineering. The role requires the ability to work independently, manage complex technical work, influence project outcomes, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across multiple teams and international partners.
This is a high-impact opportunity to contribute to a strategically important submarine program, applying specialist engineering expertise to the integration and delivery of advanced capability systems.
